Vintage Kundan Meena Enamel Earrings
AUD$5,200.00
*Ear hooks sold separately ($5,700 with ear hooks)
A gorgeous pair of vintage Indian components to be worn as interchangeable ear pendants. These vibrant ear pendants incorporate rich coloured 22+24k gold, enamel and diamonds. The pendants have been freshened up with minimal restoration work & natural blue sapphire beads. What I love about these pendants is the ‘patina’ (surface colour) of the gold. These pendants display a patina that can only be established with time.
The body of the pendants are crafted in 22k gold with the diamonds and rubies being set in virgin 24k gold using the Kundan technique. A technique famously used to set gemstones into jewelry, other gemstones, weapons and objects of curiosity.
The reverse of these ear pendants feature a colourful floral motif that has first been engraved into the gold which is then filled with glass powder and fired in a kiln to re melt the glass powder in a process called Meenakari (glass enamel).

This precious pair of ear pendants are a part of the Alexander Gems & Jewels Curated Collection. The AGJ Curated Collection will feature local Jaipur artisans work, vintage jewellery restored & repurposed jewels, as well as loose precious fine gemstones.
